The tower of Jinta ZhongGuang Solar “100MW CSP + 600MW PV” Project reached a height of 100 meters
Release date:2022-09-23

On September 17, the tower of Jinta ZhongGuang Solar "100MW CSP + 600MW PV" project reached a height of 100 meters.

The elevation of the center of the receiver is 220 meters, and the height of the concrete tower is 195 meters. The concrete pouring for the foundation of the tower began on June 17, 2022. After 93 days of construction, the tower reached 100.5 meters on September 17, overcoming the adverse effects of the epidemic situation and severe weather such as sandstorms and strong winds. The tower is scheduled to reach the top in November this year.

Currently, the construction of the project is progressing on schedule, and the construction of foundations of the STG building, air-cooling island and SGS have been completed. Civil work on the plant front area, molten salt storage tanks, water supply system and DM water system is being carried out simultaneously. According to the project schedule, by the end of November 2022, major civil work will be completed, the heliostat assembly workshop will be ready for installation work, heliostat column construction and mirror body installation work will begin, foundation construction of the tanks will be completed, and fabrication & installation of tanks will begin.

The project is developed and constructed by Jinta ZhongGuang Solar Power Generation Co., Ltd., with a total installed capacity of 700MW. It adopts the "CSP+" configuration mode, including 100MW CSP and 600MW PV. The 100MW CSP project adopts the molten salt tower CSP technology independently developed by Cosin Solar, with a 9-hour molten salt thermal storage system. The design electricity production is 1370 GWh/year, saving 480,000 tons of standard coal and reducing 1,310,000 tons of CO2 emission per year. The project commenced on Mar.25, 2022, and will be synchronized to the grid at full capacity before the end of December 2023.
